In Jamaica, Annatto has had many uses over the centuries, including as a
food dye, body paint, treatment for heartburn and stomach distress,
sunscreen and insect repellent. Also called Achiote.

coloring, cheese, butter, fish, chicken and rice. Used in place of
saffron in many Spanish recipes for itís coloring quality. Central
and south American natives used it to make body paint and lipstick.
